Public Transit in San Luis Obispo County

RUNABOUT is a county-wide ADA Paratransit program providing ADA complementary (comparable) service, which can offer these special considerations: 

All vehicles are Wheelchair Lift equipped.  Mobility Aids (walkers, canes, crutches), groceries and packages will be accommodated on the vehicle if possible.  

Courteous Drivers will assist passengers to and from the Runabout. However, the drivers cannot lift passengers or enter their residences. Offers priority preferences to ADA certified passengers.

Monday through Friday, 6:00 AM to 9:30 PM
Saturday – 8:00 AM to 8:00 PM
Sunday – 8:00 AM – 7:00 PM

Runabout service in San Luis Obispo: Weekday Service 6:30 AM – 7:30 PM, Weekday Evening Service until 10:00 PM (Labor Day to June 15), Weekend Service 8:00 AM to 6:30 PM

Runabout service in the Five Cities area: Monday – Friday 5:29 AM – 10:17 PM, Saturday – 6:29 AM – 8:17 PM, Sunday – 6:29 AM – 7:17 PM

Costs

General Public $5 plus 50 cents for each Service Area Zone crossed for a one-way trip.   ADA fares are double the regular one-way fixed route bus fare for the same trip distance.
New Check acceptance policy - checks will be accepted for a minimum of $15 and maximum of $60.

ADA Paratransit

ADA Paratransit service is provided in accordance with the following Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990 criteria: 

1.    Rider is certified and their trip is eligible to receive ADA Paratransit service. 
2.    Pickup and drop-off points are within 3/4 mile of regular bus route(s). 
3.    Trip Times are comparable with regular bus service.
